I talked with Mark Newstrom, my banding buddy, last night and found out that we have a band recovery from our Ritter Farm site. A female Rose-breasted Grosbeak was found in Prior Lake, MN which is quite near the banding area. The bird was banded in May 2006 as an after second year - ASY bird (hatched in 2004 or earlier) so the bird was at least 4 years old. Nice to see it made the migration trip several times safely. Finally done in by a window I think.
Check out the new gadget on the sidebar. See what birds are being reported to eBird in your area.
We will be banding both days this weekend so I hope to have some neat things to show everyone next week!
