I decided to sneak out to the refuge and see what was around. Being mid-summer it was pretty quiet and allowed me to just sit and watch for a while. The Barn Swallows were busy cruising over the marsh and some young birds were apparent. This beautiful bird didn't mind me at all.

I grabbed a short video of the bird ignoring me and taking care of his morning routine.

I also found this Eastern Wood Peewee hawking insects just above the trail.

Insects become more of a focus when there aren't many birds around and this very cooperative male Eastern Pondhawk Dragonfly was a nice find.
