Well all, it isn't every day that I learn how much I still don't know (more like every other day). The pictures I posted are of a female Spruce Grouse. This was pointed out by a number of responses that falls just short of the population of a large city. I am humbled by how many folks took time to help out. Thanks to all!
Next time I'll ask a harder question. ;-)

I was in Ketchamek SP this week on the Saddle and Alpine Ridge trails. Saw two Sage Grouse hens both with chicks. Was surprised by the very few number of land birds we saw but managed to see 87 species in 2 weeks
