It seems the holiday break might have been just a bit too long. Two weeks off allows one to slip into the "do nothing" mode and boy is it hard to get out of. I actually had the experience of not knowing (or caring) what day of the week it was. Now that reality has crept back into my world, I'll try to get out and do a bit of birding. My year list is up to 19 species (woo hoo!) with the best sighting so far being 7 Bald Eagles along the Minnesota River last Friday. Two youngsters were sitting on the ice feasting on a rather small portion of what used to be a rather large fish. Good to see them finding food.
