Quite the Cold Front

Well last night went from being a pleasant late fall evening to a downright cold winter morning. I raced the fading light to try to do some last chance yard clean-up and as of now, anything not done isn't going to get done until April. On the bird front, lots of activity under the feeders this morning as the juncos try to bulk up.

I have a student who has found a dead snowy owl near her house in northern Dakota County, Minnesota and is going to bring it to school tomorrow. We have a salvage permit here at school so I'll take a look at it and see if we can use it or if we should pass it on to someone. I'll maybe post a picture later.

Stay warm people, it's a long winter.
